The medical tourism

Forecast growth of medical tourism in the U.S. in the coming years

Medical tourism is the term used to describe the growing practice of traveling abroad in search of medical treatments. This service is experiencing strong growth worldwide in recent years. There are several factors influencing this growth:

  • The long queues in many health systems are collapsing.
  • The search for good service, warm climates and suggestive environments for the holidays.
  • The high costs of private medical services in industrialized countries.
It is estimated that in 2008 the global medical tourism revenue was around $ 60,000 million, with an estimated $ 100,000 million for 2010.
